We’ll definitely go back to Valentin. It truly is a lovely place. Everything from the drinks, the food, entertainment, the service, the grounds, etc was perfection!!! Exceeded expectations. There cannot be a better value in Riviera Maya. Gorgeous grounds and rooms, and treatment like royalty. Perfect for those seeking a secluded, quiet, uncrowded, traditional paradise experience. Lovely, scenic, walkable size. No shiny loud high-rises here. Recommend the Golden swim-up suites - very private, and even more beautiful at night. (And with your own bar, lunch and waitstaff!) The dining is very good overall with many options for everyone. The best surprise - the cafe! Hint: If you do not like to wait for an hour with a drink before dinner, arrive at 5:45 or purchase the Prive package. We would go back!

Fantastic stay at Valentin Imperial. Room, service and food all excellent. Sports Bar has been upgraded and fantastic as is Italian and French restaurant. Ginger was our favourite this year - tempura fish and sushi were outstanding. Piano bar was disappointing - the piano player wasn't great and you couldn't guess what he was playing most of the time so went to Sports Bar instead. Mar Tierra for breakfast - service from Alexis, Isidro and Albino was fantastic. Thanks for making us feel special every single day. Vincent in animation still as lovely. Some new entertainment team who need to learn from Vincent - it's not all about you!! There is only so much twerking you want to see in one day....off to the beach!!! It would be great to have a small washing line on balcony to hang costumes to dry. Fab holiday and we will be back...soon!!

During our first two nights, we were woken up by a loud screeching noise (we believe to be the pipes/water every 30 minutes, the toilet would not flush, and the fan was so loose it was basically hanging off the ceiling. We spoke to the concierge who said they would look into the issue as soon as they could - 6 hours later and no resolution we were told we needed to move rooms (right at dinner time!). After many conversations, we were upgraded to an ocean-front room. We walked into our new room (bell hop behind us) to find a male employee, in uniform, pants down to his ankles, watching p*** ON OUR BED. As he was a housekeeper, it was truly traumatizing and disgusting to think what else happens in guests' rooms. We have never felt so concerned as to the cleanliness and safety at a hotel. Reviews for other areas of the resort: Dinner: Unless you purchase the privee package, be prepared to wait 2 hours a night for dinner (there is no buffet option) Chairs: We had to wake up before 8am to secure a spot Spa: If you are looking to use the spa, I would look elsewhere. The spa is in the corner of the property, no windows, views or amenities. The only area to relax is a hallway or in the tiny locker room w/ gym style sauna. The facial was a sheet mask from the store on our face for 30 minutes. We would hate for anyone else to experience what we did. Please look elsewhere!

Just back for our 2nd trip. This place is simply amazing!! Resort-breathtaking, food-fantastice, entertainment-exciting, bars-fabulous, staff-5 star service!!! Staff standouts-Oscar, Margorito and Sania. I can't forget the star of the show, Dora!!! This resort has the perfect mix of relaxing and party-time. Ages range from 20 to 90 and all have fun!
